Leo Huang joined Kornfeld LLP in 2024 as a paralegal after
10 years of legal practice in Auckland, New Zealand, where he acquired
expertise as a civil and commercial litigator. As of January 2026, Leo has completed the Canadian
accreditation process, was called to the Bar in British Columbia, and commenced
his practice as an associate at Kornfeld.
At the core a problem solver, Leo delivers thoughtful,
balanced and practical advice to clients at all stages of a dispute. He has appeared in trial and appellate
proceedings before all levels of courts in New Zealand, and developed
experience resolving disputes involving contracts, torts, trusts, companies,
and real property. In BC, Leo has worked
on complex disputes involving shareholder rights, construction contracts,
commercial contracts and wills.
Leo is also fluent in Mandarin Chinese and has acted and
advised on numerous matters where the primary evidence of key witnesses and
documents are in Chinese.
Outside of the law, Leo is passionate about cycling and
spends a lot of time outdoors.
