Gigi joined the firm in 2020 following ten years of private practice as a barrister in Hong Kong where she developed a broad practice spanning both criminal and civil matters. Gigi’s criminal practice encompassed white-collar criminal matters, particularly those involving fraud, money laundering, corruption and securities investigation. Her civil litigation practice focused on commercial and contractual disputes. Gigi appeared before all levels of court in Hong Kong, as both defending and prosecuting counsel.
Since establishing her practice in Vancouver, Gigi has developed a litigation-focused practice in general civil litigation with an emphasis on commercial disputes involving contracts, shareholder disputes, creditor-debtor remedies, wills and estates litigation and all areas of family law.
Gigi remains actively involved in legal education in British Columbia. Since 2018, Gigi has worked as an educator supporting foreign-trained lawyers who seek to transfer their foreign qualifications to the Canadian jurisdiction. Gigi continues to volunteer as a mentor and guest speaker for foreign-trained lawyers undergoing the NCA process. During her tenure in Hong Kong, Gigi has also served as both a guest speaker and mock trial judge at various Hong Kong universities.
Outside of her professional commitments, Gigi is a dedicated mother to her young daughter, with whom she loves spending quality time baking and participating in their local church. Gigi is also a passionate yoga practitioner.
