Law Student

Calvin Speedie

Calvin is an incoming third-year student at the University of British Columbia, Peter A. Allard School of Law. He previously obtained a obtained a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Guelph majoring in economics and finance. Before attending law school, Calvin worked an as analyst for a data analytics firm.

Calvin greatly enjoys getting involved in his community and has held leadership positions on a number of student associations throughout his education. These positions include acting as the Vice President Finance of the Law Students’ Society, the Director of Finance for the Lang Students’ Association, and the President of the Young Economists’ Society. He has also been selected to represent his university in competitions such as the Bank of Canada Governor’s Challenge and the Willm’s and Shier Moot.

While pursuing his JD, Calvin worked as a property development intern for a local developer. He has held a variety of summer jobs which include working for the Canada Revenue Agency, a large financial services company, a data analytics firm, and as a barbecue technician.
