The founding partner of Kornfeld LLP, E. Neil Kornfeld, Q.C. has been recognized in the 2021 edition of the Chambers Canada guide for his legal excellence in the Real Estate category.
Chambers Canada 2021 is the sixth edition of the guide, which identifies leading lawyers across the country. The selection is based on extensive research that was conducted by a seven-person team between January and May 2020, including hundreds of in-depth interviews with clients, private practice lawyers and in-house counsel.
Born, raised and educated in Vancouver, Neil is one of the most prominent real estate lawyers in the city with several decades of experience in the field.
Neil’s focus areas are real property law, bankruptcy, and insolvency. During more than 25 years in real estate law, he has acted as counsel before courts at all levels, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
His cases have touched on the most complex issues surrounding development and redevelopment of both commercial and residential projects, such as heritage preservation, land assemblies and re-zonings. Neil also maintains an insolvency practice to aid clients in matters of bankruptcy, foreclosures, receiverships, and reorganizations.
