Born and raised in Vancouver, Dakota completed his undergraduate degree at UBC before attending law school at the University of Victoria. Prior to law school, Dakota co-founded and led a charitable organization that provides educational programming for recently arrived refugee youth.
During law school, Dakota worked in a student role with a federal government agency, gaining practical litigation experience and appearing before a variety of tribunals.
In his spare time, Dakota enjoys reading, skiing, and fishing (with limited success).
